Most teenage girls know their name, where they came from, who they are. Not G, a beautiful redhead with unusual markings on her wrist. She gets her name from a silver locket she keeps around her neck, unaware the engraved letter “G” on its front holds the secret to her past.
G’s life before the age of six has been a mystery to her. Each night for the last twelve years she’s been haunted by the same nightmare—a war. Horrendous beasts, warriors able to wield the four elements, and a boy who saves her by means of blue fire taunt her memory. But on her eighteenth birthday, G’s life begins to unravel. When she meets her new Chemistry professor, a man with an uncanny resemblance to the boy who saves her, she knows there must be more to her dreams.
It’s dangerous not knowing who you are, what you’re capable of, and what future awaits you. Especially when the darkness that slaughtered your entire world, just found you.
You can go anywhere in the world to study any culture, but you must live there for a month and abide by their rules. Where would you go?
Easy! I would like to go and study any culture from the UK. Ever since I saw Peter Pan I fell in love with the idea of moving to England but as the years passed I began to love the entire UK, their costumes and their food… pies, boxty, their marmalade, Yorkshire puddings, sticky toffee pudding or anything that ends with pudding!
Besides the fact that some of my favorite writers (JK Rowling, Martin McDonagh, Jane Austen, Lewis Carroll, J.R.R. Tolkien) and some of my favorite stories (Robin Hood, Peter Pan, V for Vendetta, Brave, Trainspotting, Harry Potter, etc) are from there, I always found UK sort of magical. The mix of colors, the trees, the intimidating castles and the fog, it’s so easy to see how back in the medieval times people could believe in magic and rare creatures. That is also why I made one of my main characters from England (Edan) and another one from Ireland (Pratt). That plus one of my brothers lives in Ireland (Hello little bro! How’s life without tacos going?)
Some of the things I love the most about UK it’s how you can drive in a big city with gorgeous architecture and an hour later you are driving through breathtaking landscapes with mountains, trees and cliffs. It would be fun to experience for a few months the differences between them and my country. To see how they interact with each other as friends or as family (In my country we are all major huggers so I might have to tone it down when hugging strangers… or everyone around me), to see how they cook and little quirky things they have. I would love to plan one day a writing trip around UK. I want to visit places like, Westport, Dublin, Edinburgh, Inverness, London, Ipswich, etc and spend a month or more in each one of those cities to get to know how the locals live not just the tourists. To go out to pubs, an October plenty festival, have tea every day, play cricket (although something tells me I’ll be terrible at it) and watch a live Rugby game, etc.
