Marissa Moss, author of the 5
million-copy bestselling Amelia’s
Notebook series, is announcing the final book in the smash-hit collection
just in time for its 20th anniversary, Amelia’s Middle-School Graduation Yearbook (Creston Books, $12.95
hardcover, May 12, 2015). The final Amelia book launches from Moss’ new children’s
press, Creston Books.
Long before there was Diary of a Wimpy Kid, The Dork
Diaries, or The Popularity Papers, there was Amelia’s Notebook, the
original handwritten diary with a mix of words and pictures on every page, the
forerunner of the graphic novel for kids.
Promotions for the 20th
anniversary include outreach to the tens of thousands of Amelia fans, a writing
contest, and a downloadable Amelia’s 20th Anniversary Birthday Party
Event kit for stores to use. Written in Moss’ signature charming, relatable
style with engaging illustrations, it’s the perfect graduation gift for
middle-schoolers.
Excerpted monthly in American Girl Magazine, American Girl bought Moss’ backlist and published two new
Amelia books per year to
unprecedented enthusiasm. The series rocketed to the Los Angeles Times’
and San Francisco Chronicle’s bestseller lists, and won ABA Pick of the
List (1997) and Children’s Choice Awards (2002).
Marissa Moss launched the independent children’s
press, Creston Books, in Fall 2013, to provide a space for diverse, beautifully
produced, and well-crafted stories for children in order to inspire curiosity
and imaginative thinking.
MARISSA MOSS is the bestselling creator of the popular children’s series Amelia’s Notebook, Daphne’s Diary of Daily Disasters, and Mira’s Diary, and is the author of more than 30 picture books. The inspiration for Amelia's Notebook came from Moss’ own childhood notebook; the things that happen to Amelia really happened to Moss (mostly). She lives in Berkeley, California.
