Welcome to Author Interview Thursday hosted by the Never Too Old for YA and NA Books group on Goodreads.
Today we welcome Cesya MaRae Cuono!
Welcome Cesya!
Did you always know you wanted
to be a writer or did you want to be something else?
When I was younger, I wanted to be a teacher. It’s kind of funny
because because over time it changed and then in college I found myself
teaching people who were going for their GED. I remember this one girl telling
me I should be a teacher and I just laughed because I was in school for
business administration.
How long does it take you to
write a book from start to finish?
With
book two in the Elemental series it took me a little over a year to finish.
Book one took me nine months.
What was the hardest thing about
writing a book?
For me it was story
flow. My mind jumps around a lot and I noticed the characters’ did as well.
How many books have you written
so far? Do you have a favorite?
I’ve
written two books. My favorite would have to be the second book in the
Elemental series.
Do you have a favorite
character?
I don’t have one favorite,
but rather two. Ady and Emery. They’re the main character’s best friends and
the banter between both of them is hysterical.
Where do you write?
I write in my bedroom on my bed which is
weird because I have a desk in my room. I tried sitting there once and all I
did was stare out the window. Needless to say I didn’t get any writing done
that day.
Have you gotten feedback from
family about your book(s)? What do they think?
My aunt called me up the second she finished Elemental Reality and was
convinced Faeries were real. She even asked me when the second book was coming
out and that was back when ER was first released!
What kinds of things do you like
to do outside of writing?
Reading. I
love it! My goal is to have a library in my house. With the amount of books I
currently have I think I’m halfway there. I also enjoy going to the movies,
hanging out with friends, walking aimlessly around Barnes & Noble, or just
going to Starbucks for a coffee.
Do you have any go to people
when writing a book that help you with your story lines as well as editing,
beta reading and such?
Most definitely!
They’re amazing people and I love them for everything they’ve helped me with so
far.
Are you working on anything
now?
I am currently working on
Rebirth (Elemental #3) and two secret projects I can’t discuss yet.
Thanks so much for being here today, Cesya. It was great having you!
