If my life were a fairy tale which one would it be and why?
I had to think long and hard on
this requested topic, and the only fairy tale that comes close to my life is
Cinderella. No, I had no evil step-mother or step-sisters. Quite the opposite, actually.
I was blessed with two loving parents who are still happily married and in love
after 45ish years together. They also gave me three awesome brothers who I
adore to death.
How is Cinderella relevant to my
life? I had reached a low some years back. A stand-still of misery, thinking I
had met my fate. Loved, but not the way a woman desires. Childless.
I resigned myself to finishing
out my life.
As the years passed, I grew
restless and finally decided I had enough. Time to stretch my wings and fly. I
never wanted to be “wife” again. Ever. To be quite honest, I hated the term.
And then I met my prince.
While there was no glass slipper,
there was a ring that fit perfectly. Happiness and a realization love was more
than being a doormat.
My prince then gave me three
little yummies of my own—Sister, Pips, and Little Man—the lights of my life.
Some days, between squabbles and
diapers, I don’t feel like I live a fairy tale life, but I remind myself of how
blessed I truly am—of how far I’ve come from sadness and despair.
How about yourself? Any fairy
tale remind you of your own life?

Terri started writing stories in the 8th grade,
when a little gnome whispered in her brain. Gundi’s Great Adventure never hit
the best seller list, but it started a long love affair with storytelling. Thanks so much for stopping by today, Terri! It was so great to have you here!
Today she enjoys an escape to
Middle Earth during the rare ‘me’ moments her three young children allow. When
not playing toys, picking them back up, or kissing boo-boos, she can be found sprawled
on the couch with a book or pencil in hand, and toothpicks propping her eyelids
open.
