The Cover Contessa's Review:
When I saw that Katie was doing another novella, I jumped at the chance to pre-order it! And I am so glad I did.
Like her Pushing the Limits books, Katie is phenomenal at character development. Even in the shortness of this story, she's able to really show us her characters and how they change and grow.
I absolutely love Stella. She's quirky and introverted, but she's so smart. A little too smart for her own good. And, while she gets made fun of, it doesn't seem to bother her nearly as much as it should. Except for the fact that Johah was part of it. And she hates that and wants to know that he's better than his friends.
Jonah is loyal to his friends but when he starts to know Stella, he realizes he doesn't want to be the person he has been. Add in a tragic event and he's ready to change his life and do things differently.
I loved the dual POV. Watching each character react to the situation and seeing how they see it. The plot was real and believable and fast paced enough to really make me want to keep pushing forward. Any fan of Katie's will love this story as much as her others. Great romance, good story, overall a perfect read. My only complaint, I would have loved to see this as a full length novel. It would have had so much depth.
I'm very much looking forward to Take Me ON. I just can't get enough of McGarry's writing!
KATIE MCGARRY was a teenager during the age of grunge and boy bands and remembers those years as the best and worst of her life. She is a lover of music, happy endings, and reality television, and is a secret University of Kentucky basketball fan.Katie would love to hear from her readers. Contact her via her website, katielmcgarry.com, follow her on Twitter @KatieMcGarry, or become a fan on Facebook and Goodreads.
I also got myself this novella, and since I haven't read any Katie McGarry books, I think it'd probably the perfect introduction!
