Today I am very excited to be taking part in a very special blog tour. This blog tour is for bloggers. Bloggers are featuring other bloggers on their sites so you can get to know them better. Sounds fun, right?
Today I get to have this very special lady here on The Cover Contessa:
She has graciously agreed to answer all my blog prying questions!
So, let me hand to floor over to Sarah from Give it to Cupcake (she'll eat it) .
Sarah, take it away!
Sarah, take it away!
Where were you born and where do you call home?
I was born in North Carolina! But I only lived there a few years, along with a few other states. I grew up in San Diego, California. I would call that my “hometown.” But as for my home, I currently live in Clarksville, Tennessee with my husband. So that’s my home!
How long have you been a blogger?
I started my blog about a year or two ago, but took a really, really long hiatus. I re-vamped and re-thought a lot of things through with what I wanted to blog about and started blogging again at the end of December! Book blogging is new to me! So I guess I’m a pretty new little newbie!
What is the name of the book you most recently blogged about?
I guess it would be Inescapable by Amy Bartol. My mom and I did a little podcast type recording about it since she just finished reading it and I wanted to know what she thought!
Did you like the cover? Rate it on a scale of 1 star to 5 stars, 5 being the best?
I loved the cover! It’s simple yet intriguing and then all makes sense when you are finished with the book. Definitely five stars!
If you could ask the author 3 questions about this book, what would they be?
I would ask, where did the inspiration for Evie, Reed, and Russell come from? Did you think that people would be so emotionally involved into your story (because I know I am!)? What is the story behind the angels’ wings colors?
Can you name a favorite scene from the book?
What isn’t a favorite part? Can I pick the whole book? I’ll narrow it down to a few. I love when Evie tasers Reed in the very beginning. That always cracks me up. I also love when Evie gets her wings. The whole scene leading up to it, when it happens, and then following it really just puts icing on the cake to what you are waiting to happen in the whole book!
What character did you like the most? The least? Why?
Well, my very favorite character of the series isn’t in the book. Buy my favorite from the book is Evie. She’s so young in the first book and it really is almost like watching her grow up in supersonic speed. My least favorite is Russell. I am NOT team Russell. He better back off Evie with his awesome southern accent and super hot body.
Was this a series or stand alone? If it is a series, will you read the rest of the books?
It’s a series, The Premonition Series, and I have already read the rest of them. :D It’s a favorite of mine!
Was this a review book or something you picked out to read? Do you think that influenced your review?
` It wasn’t a review book. I’ve already read this book a few times, but my mom just got a Kindle for Christmas and she is reading some of my favorite books. After she finished, she talked on the phone about what we thought about the book together.
What did you rate this book?
I would rate it one million stars if I could!
Have you written a book yourself or are you planning to in the future?
I have not written a book myself, yet. Although it has recently been eating away at my mind to start a book, I have to sit down and actually map out my thoughts. I have so many ideas and I love to write. So why not, right?
What genre is your favorite and why?
I really love most genres equally. I tend to read a lot of Paranormal Romance, Dystopian, and some New Adult and Contemporary as well.
If you were shipwrecked on a desert island what 3 books would you want with you and why?
This is torture! By the way, I’m totally going with series here. I’m a cheater. I would probably pick The Dark Duet by CJ Roberts because I’ve got to have some steamy romantic scenes while I’m away. Then I would want to read The Premonition Series by Amy Bartol because like I said, I love them and they’re always a fun read. My last pick would be The Chaos Walking Series by Patrick Ness. That’s an awesome trilogy and it’s long and full of adventure so it would for sure keep me busy for a while!
Is there an Author that you would really like to meet? Is there an author that you really wanted to meet and had the pleasure of doing so?
I actually have not got to meet any authors yet. I am going to UtopYA this year and I’m super excited to meet all the authors that are attending because I love almost all of them (and I say almost, because I haven’t got to read everyone’s books yet. But I will get there!). I pretty much would love to meet any author that I enjoyed their books. I think that’s the best part of reading!
Do you prefer ebooks, paperbacks or hardcover?
I really love my Kindle, so I would say I love ebooks most. BUT I do have a really awesome paper book collection as well. I’m kind of a book hoarder.
Where do you buy your books?
I get them Mostly through Amazon.
Have you ever read a book more than once? Which one and why?
I’ve read many books more than once. Sometimes it’s because the next book in the series is being released and I like to re-live the series and have it fresh in my mind. Other times it’s because I truly love the story. I’ve re-read The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, the Chaos Walking Series by Patrick Ness, Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen, The Help by Kathryn Stockett, The Premonition Series by Amy Bartol, and The Significance Series by Shelly Crane.
Do you prefer movies over books ever?
I’m kind of an equal lover of both. I always try and read the books prior to a movie. But most of the time I can equally enjoy the book and the movie. I do have the “oh the book was better” syndrome most of the time. But they both tell a story and if a movie encourages people to read, why should I hate on it?
What book are you currently reading and in what format (ebook/paperback/hardcover)?
I’m currently reading Stained by Ella James on my Kindle!
What book are you about to start reading?
Once I finished Stained, I’m not sure what I’ll read! It’s always a spur of the moment decision unless I have a book to review!
What book do you know that you will never read? Why?
I don’t currently have a book that I have labeled as never to read. I honestly try and give every book a chance that I seem into.
Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest recently and why?
There’s a whole sea of authors that have grasped my interest lately. I don’t think I could name just one. It’s like the floodgates have opened for me.
Have you read a book that you would like to rewrite the ending of?
Not that I can recall. I’m fairly happy with the way most books have ended so far. The authors seem to get their characters pretty well.
Do you like book trailers? Why or why not?
I do! I think it’s a fun and different platform for a book and for people to enjoy.
Name your three favorite book covers:
1. All of the Fall of Angels Series by Keary Taylor
2. Devoured by Emily Snow
3. The Coincidence of Callie and Kayden by Jessica Sorensen
Where do you usually blog?
Where do I write my blogs? On my bed, most of the time.
Do you have any pet peeves?
Yes. I try not to let them bug me but I always do things in a certain order and it’s very predictable. When people do things out of order and there’s no way to tell what order they are going in, it drives me nuts.
How often do you blog?
I try and blog at least once a week, but most of the time three to four times a week.
How many books do you read in a month?
I’m not sure. I track my progress by pages and it varies from month to month depending on what is going on!
Do you have a reading log for your books? Do you have a goal for the year?
I do! I have a master list on my iPhone in a notes app, but I also use Goodreads as well. My goal for 2013 is to read 30,001 pages!
How do you organize your books?
Well, it’s kind of hard on my Kindle. But I do keep all the books I want to read/haven’t read yet in the bookshelf below the normal scrolling part and then delete them out of the carousel.
What is your favorite color?
Pink. Without a doubt. But rainbow is a close second.
What are 5 items you never leave home without:
1. My iPhone
2. Chapstick
3. Lotion
4. My wallet
5. My glasses!
What is your most favorite electronic gadget?
Either my iPhone or my Kindle Fire. I love them both equally!
Name your three book crushes:
1. Brennus – Premonition Series by Amy Bartol
2. Julian – Mindjack Series by Susan Kaye Quinn
3. Caleb – Significance Series by Shelly Crane
Is there a character you love to hate?
Xavier. He’s in the Premonition Series by Amy Bartol(Have I mentioned this series enough? Jeeze!). I can’t stand him. I want to throw rocks at his head through my Kindle. But then, I want to know more about him, so it’s for sure a love/hate.
Coffee, tea or hot chocolate?
All of the above?! I’m not a huge coffee person, but there are times that it is necessary for my survival. And my Keurig is a gift from the heavens.
What is your favorite food to eat?
Sushi. I puffy heart sushi. I also love steak. And French fries. Pretty much food in general.
What’s your favorite ice cream flavor?
Oh gosh. I love Love Potion #31 at Baskin and Robbins. It only comes out late January and stays until it’s all gone. I’ve been saving for a tub of it since last year. A tub is about $60. I’m serious. Want to know the way to my heart. Send me a big old tub of this stuff.
What is your favorite TV show? Movie?
Tv shows I love are The Vampire Diaries, Glee, Parenthood, and the New Girl. My favorite movie is The Labyrinth.
What are you most fearful of?
Natural disasters and what the heck is lurking around in bodies of water that isn’t clear. Ew. That freaks me out. Mostly because I hate jelly fish, but also because there could be some freaky things we never see wanting to suck your toes or something while you’re trying to swim.
